his 5th child and 2nd son thomas. th 6th child of thomas and hannah nee brinton darlington was george, whose 2nd child, richard, was the father of smedley darlington. he married edith smedley, who was the 5th gen of george smedley, who came to pa. from england in 1682

charles d. smedley, m.d. was born in wayne, delaware co. he married jan 8, 1893 to caroline rems, d/o james rems of phila.
