Benjamin Smedley born 1741 Derbyshire, Info Needed

My Smedleys lived in Durham, Teesdale and were lead miners. Benjamin Smedley was born in Derbyshire but I have no other records apart from when he moved to Teesdale. I think some of the Smedleys may have gone to Australia but have no records of this either. My family tree has over 500 names and would very much like more information on the early Smedleys.
