While I go check out my data.......tell me your Smathers connections.....
NO......my bro matched exact in our DNA project to 2 Smathers and 4 Smothers fr the line of Wm Smither that died 1760 Berks Co Pa...the patriarch of all these Smathers.....and I assume you know whom I refer too, the one who md the German gal Mary Catherine Jeakey.
So my quest in researching Smathers....is trying to figure out which 7 sons of Wm and Mary..is going to be our 5x grandfather.....my dibs have been on Valentine for a long time bec our 4x grandfather was a Wm Smeathers....Valentine and most likely a son Archibald were found in 1782 Greenbriar tax list, as Smeathers, each in their own HH.
...Arch might be too young to be our Wm's father, which now could mean, Arch might have had a brother or older brother Wm. so thats my story and thats why I've gathered sooo much Smathers data.....bec our 4x gf apparently was in Tenn Co abt 1790-94 collecting land, then went to Tn, then prob to Ky and eventually onto Tx where he is well documentated, and well documentated in Ky. I have some good fellow researchers to lean on for any info I havent found on this whole family of Smither>Smathers>Smethers>Smeathers>Smothers
