Looking for any info on Daniel Smart born 1805 in South Carolina. Daniel and his wife Lettice are listed in the 1850 census in Murry Co. Ga. By 1860 the family has moved to Cherokee Co. Alabama .And by 1880 the family is living in Jackson CO. Al.On this census, information is given that Daniel's father was born in North Carolina and his mother was born in Virginia.
Children of Daniel and Lettice Smart are :
Elifus b. ca 1830
John b. ca 1832
Sarah b.ca 1834
Hester A. b. ca 1838
Thomas b. ca 1839
Jane b. ca 1842 in Ga
Morning C. b ca 1844 in Ga. d. 1924 in Jackson CO.Alabama
Daniel A. b.ca 1846 in Ga.
Cisero D. b.ca 1848 in ga.
Hannah b.ca 1850 in ga.

I have a little information on some of the descendants of this Daniel ,but absolutely nothing to go on past Daniel.

I have a photo of Morning C. Smart (she looks very much Indian) with the family of her only son Robert Smart. Robert married Virginia Mae Thomas probably in Cherokee Co. Al. Robert and Virginia died in Jackson Co.Al only a day apart from the flu, leaving 6 children as orphans. Robert and Virginia are buried in the Gant Cemetery in Jackson Co. Alabama.
Morning C.Smart died sept. 1924 .Death ceritficate lists her as Manning Smart a pauper and resident of the County Poor House. She is buried beside her son Robert Smart in Gant Cemetery.

Anyone who can shed any light on this family please contact me at kngsglss@bellsouth.net
