My father was William (Willie) Smallwood b. 12-16-17 Tyldesley d. 5-11-53 Detroit. His family emigrated to Canada when he was 5 years old; then Detroit about 1932. He had 2 sisters: Elsie 1915-2007, the other born 1919.
His parents were Henry (Harry) b. 1890 to William and Anne Tighe Smallwood and Beatrice Mather Smallwood b. 1895 to Jesse and Ellen Hilton Mather. Henry resided at Parr Bridge Farm and Beatrice lived at 40 Sale Lane when they married.
Henry had 11 siblings: John, William, Sarah, Edward, Joseph, Thomas, Henry, Frank, George, James and Albert. Henry, Frank and George emigrated to the U.S.
Beatrice (Beattie) had siblings but I am uncertain as to their names just now.
I know my father corresponded with someone named and Dorrie and Elsie with Audrey. I also have a photo of Mr. and Mrs. Hudson, Manchester, England Oct. 1954.
