Here's a suggestion too...check under both spellings-- SLY and SLYE. My family has used both spelling throughout generations sometimes even brothers and sisters used the opposite spellings. Don't get frustrated -- you may find nothing one day then a month later find tons of info.
P.S. My Sly/Slye family has been in the Oregon/Washington area too, as well as Vermont, Maryland, Rhode Island areas.
