When i was growing up i thought they were from Austria and spoke German, that was in the 30's. now that i'm trying to do a family tree all the records say something else-Slovenia-Austria-Slovakia even Yugoslavia. one record shows Martin arrived 1889 and Mary 1890. No one can find a passenger list . I figured because the family went to the Slovenian Church that was that. My dad Louis Albert Slack belonged to the KSKJ at St. Joseph's-i even have some kind of a fancy medal for the KSKJ. Shouldn't the children's baptismal cert. tell where the parents are from? I have been trying to find out all this for months and on message boards and several GenForums i really appreciate your help.
