Kotchevar/Kocevar and Kolar
Posted by: Mary Haven (ID *****5045) Date: October 24, 2012 at 20:52:44

My grandfather, John Kotchevar, came to the US about 1888. He was born in 1869 in Austria. He and his brothers settled in Porterville, Calif., as ranchers/farmers/carpenters.
I know very little about his parents.

My grandmother, Anna Kolar, was born in Semic in 1888. She emigrated to the US in 1905. Her parents were Josef Kolar and Maria Gubsnich or Judnich.

If you have any information that will help me "get across the pond", I would greatly appreciate it.
