I am trying to locate my great-grandfather's homeland. I found on another web site the Hamburg Passenger list with my great-grandfather's name on it as "Marcin Chmielowicz", residence: Bogoslaw ??, ethnicity - Austrian. But when he landed in New York, he said he was Polish and the town was unreadable. Looked like: Zojoslance?? Anyone have any ideas on this?? I do know that when his wife, my great-grandmother came in 1909, she said she was born in : ujbeczesse (Nova Bystrica)and that she was Slovakian. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!
