Did you notice that Tereza and the children were detained at Ellis Island while they telegraphed Joseph for $, they were released on Nov 26

There is also a notation that Tereza, Jr. applied for US Citizenship Jan 1941 and the word discharged is next to Maria ...most likely from the hospital aboard the ship or at Ellis Island.

Their former residence is listed as Lipovec located 43.1 miles SE of Ljubljana

The online Slovene phone book lists some STOJIN (sounds like strroyeen) in the Krsko listings, in the area where Kostanjevica na Krki is located

The surnames POPISH nor PAHES are not found in Slovenia
