First Names: Galgi, Hangoy and Inston
Can anyone help with the origination of the first names: Galgi (who became my Uncle Gib), Hangoy or Inston (who became my Aunt Angie). It's been very difficult for me to pin down where my grandparents (Gib and Angie's parents) come from, so I'm trying this "unusual first name approach." The Ellis Island recs have my grandmother living in Slabinje, Austria in 1913, she claimed Austrian Slovanien ethnicity. Her brother (Jovo) claimed he lived in Slabinja, Hungary (in 1912) and that he was Hungarian, Servian. Ten yrs later (1922) Jovo claimed he was from Stabinja, Yugoslv and that he was Yugoslv Croat
Thank you, Lois
