"My grandfather, Anton Hocevar, was reportedly born in Krka in 1880". You do not have any documents to substantiate that he was born in Krka? I would recommend locating a document like draft registration, naturalization petition, SS-5Form, state marriage application, church marriage record to point precisely to Krka.
