Kari,
Venica is on the Kulpa (Croatians call it Kupa koopah) River and SUTEJ and GASPARIC are common on both sides of the border.
The original spelling could have been either GASPERIC or GASPARIC with a diacritic mark over the S and the C, making the name sound like gahshparrrich.
The root of the name is the male given name Gaspar, which means Caspar... the IC ending means son of literal translation would be Casperson.
Sutej appears with diacritic over the S - Ĺ UTEJ making the name sound like shoe tie.
I noticed in another post you said some were born in Secje Selo and some lived in Vinica... Secje Selo (selo means village) is part of the parish at Vinica... sometimes people would list the larger place as their birthplace or former residence...
A very common variant of John in Slovenian is Janez.
George could have been Jure, Juraj or Gjure not Jurij.
Also in that other post you mentioned JURSINIC, root is male given name Jure... sin (seen) means son and IC means son of, literally the grandson of Jure.
PALAKOVIC root is palako... meaning slow.. IC meaning son of
PALAKOVIC in Ellis Is records is showing from an area quite a bit south of the Kupa border area.
