When did your grandparents come to the US? If during the Ellis Island record years, then their exact place of origin might be possible to locate from there. There are no Levar in either Ljubljana or Kranj, according to the Slovenian telephone directory. There are some Levar in the Cerknica area south of Ljubljana or in Kamnik. The Krainz surname is spelled Krajnc in Slovenian. There are none in Cerknica, but three in Kamnik. Therefore it seems very likely that your grandparents came from the Kamnik area. That is if they knew each other and were married before coming to the US.
This area belongs to the Archbishopric of Ljubljana. If you want copies of record transcripts, the archives provides them for a fee. If no-one out there is researching these two families and already has information on them, then you will have to hire a researcher. If your grandparents were married in Slovenia, and possibly in Kamnik, then you will either have to contact the archives or the municipal records offices in Kamnik. As their marriage occurred less than 100 years ago, these records are not made available to researchers. Only the staff at these two institutions will be able to provide you with this information.
