What you have as an "m" is actually an "r" and an "n." So the village name is Chrast nad Hornadom, with the "nad Hornadom" meaning "on the Hornad River. (Haraszt is the spelling of the village name in the Magyar/Hungarian language.) Chrast means something like thicket. The village is about 10 miles east of the large town of Spisska Nova Ves [=Spis New Town] in northeastern Slovakia. The village of Vydrnik is about 10 miles northwest of S.N.V.

No one surnamed Kalna appears to live in Chrast today, but ten lived in S.N.V. in 1995. That ten was the most in any place in Slovakia.

Dozens of people surname Slavkovsky lived (in 1995) in S.N.V. and in Vydrnik.
