Thanks, I hadn't really considered that angle. Any idea whether passenger lists ere extant and/or still available? Could ships really "turn arouund" as quickly as one day?

I'm interested in tracking this lady for two main reasons: one, she was the youngest sister to my g-grandmother; and two, she had five brothers, the existence of only one of whom was known to my part of the family. Three of the remaining four I know almost nothing about, except that two of them were in the US for the 1900 Census. What happened to these guys after that--where they lived, when they died, etc, I know nothing. There is a complete vacuum as to family lore. I'm hoping that by following other family members and people associated with them that I can get some clues.
