Thank you for your reply. Sorry, there was a typo in the surname as it should read ZASZTKO. Aside from that, I suppose it could refer to fisherman, but I have my doubts as Slovenska Ves (aka Totfalu) is land-locked.And as I said family history links the mill to this clan.It seems strange that the second byname mentioned to me is "Miller" as that seems to be an english spelling.
I'm really at a loss as to what is intended by a "byname". Is it supposed to reflect what the person did in life? How and when was it used? What records would exist referencing these designated bynames?
