I received a letter from the archives in Slovakia but I am not sure what it says exactly.
It states the following:
Oddelenie matrik a hlasenia pobytu Ministerstva vnutra Slovenskej republiky oznamuje, ze statne matriky na uzemi Slovenskej republiky boli vedene od 1.10.1895. Ked'ze sa osoba, o ktoru ide narodila vr. 1885, na prislusnom matricnom urade sa zaznam o jej narodeni nenachadza.
Any help with translating this would be greatly appreciated.
