Hi Zlatica. Thank you so much for responding. And I saw your response on the Poland website also. Zygmunt is probably my great grandmothers maiden name. The documents that I have are my grandmothers birth certificate, her baptism certificate, my uncles baptism certificate and my great grandfathers death certificate. It was on his death certificate that I saw his mothers name as Guleu. He died in April of 1930. Josefs name and Marys names are spelled many different ways on all the certificates. My grandmother said her father spoke very poor English and her mother spoke none at all. Her, my aunt and my uncle were all fluent in Slovak/Polish. Where the farm is located in the Pocono Mtns of Pennsylvania most of their neighbors were also either Slovak or Polish. My great grandfather is buried in St Josephs Cemetery in Jim Thorpe, Carbon county, PA. All of the grave stones around him are written in Slovak.
