>>> On the manifest May 16,1893 for Maria Paczejko they list her's as German <<<
In my opinion, that information is a result of sloppy use of ditto marks and not hard facts.
>>> She was born in Vienna Austria <<<
This question can only be answered by a review of church records. The ships manifest would suggest otherwise. EI film reference previously given.
>>> On the ship manifest Feb 13 1892 for Cyril (Pocejka) they list his ethnicity as Hungary with no place of residence. I think a Jacob Pacejka who was on the ship probably was a younger brother. <<<
Yes, that is correct -- shown as Hungarian on the manifest. The current countries were all part of the Austro-Hungarian empire and dual monarchy. Those from the area of current-day Slovakia would have been from "Northern Hungary" at that time. Is there any evidence of a family relationship to your clan other than similar names?
>>> the Priest in Colorado would always put down on church records of baptism etc Moravia and not a town <<<
Moravia would include our best guess but certainly NOT Prague.
>>> Frances's husband to his children after her death. In the letter he writes.."She was born in Vienna Austria. Her parents were from Prague <<<
I suggest that hubby might have had scant knowledge of the local geography and gave a "best guess". Church records are the only way to verify.
>>> They both departed from Bremen. <<<
Many ships departed from Bremen. No genealogical conclusion can be drawn from this information.
To help you gather your thoughts before hiring a genealogical professional in eastern Czech Republic, you might want to complete the information in the following reference letter. I don't beleive that the Czech Archives will provide any direct assistance -- even if paid, though they once did.
