This is an update the the incorrect info many had on my family line here mentioned. We have found out that Manerva was not the real name fo this ancestor, just a nickname she adopted, after hier first husband died, and she was not born a Slate either, like we previously thought. Actually she was Mary Ann G. Proctor at birth, and when with the first husb. actually called herself Mary and Mollie. After his demise, she started using the nickname of "Manerva" which is also another nickname for the name Mary. Later after she and George Split, she starting using Meg. a nickname from the Indian form of her name Mary. Mary Ann "Manerva was of Indian descent herself.
