Randy, I am very familiar with the story but thanks anyway for the Google links as I see some new links have turned up recently. I have access to great resources including the journals from officers in the Sullivan Expedition of 1779 to whom who Giles Slocum told the story. (He was travelling with them for protection after the capture of his sister Frances.) What I was hoping for was some primary documents (journals, diaries, bibles, etc.) from the Slocum family where this incident may have been mentioned. Please e-mail me if you would like the links to my resources as Giles Slocum's story is intertwined with my ancestor's story. Thanks again for looking into this.
