The only info I can give you is; Mary Slocum 4 (Giles, Giles, Phillip ?) was born here in Dartmouth Township, New Plymouth, now Massachusetts, the 30th day of the Eleventh month in 1675.Her parents, soon after her birth, returned to Portsmouth, Rhode Island where she was reared, and married John Coggeshall, Jr. 18 March, 1696-7, by Governor Walter Clark. Children; 1. Elizabeth, b. Jan. 29, 1698 in Portsmoth 2. John, b. 1, 30, 1699 and died in infancy 3. John, b. June 19, 1701; died Oct. 9, 1795 4. Giles, b. Feb 5, 1703; died in December 1703 5. Giles, b. Oct. 3, 1704 in Portsmouth 6. James, b. Oct, 1706 " 7. William, b. Nov. 1708 " 8. Mary, b. Nov. 6, 1710 " That's it....hope it helped. Oh ! I think they left Dartmouth because they were Quakers, and at the time, the Governor of Massachusetts didn't really like them. Also, Giles(1) purchased a lot of land, here in Dartmouth thinking it was part of Rhode Island, at that time. Later, many of his family moved here.........and my Grandmother was a Slocum.
