I've not worked on the line in some time and could sure use some help. John Henry Slone was born in Johnson County Kentucky 7 December 1866 and died in Lincoln County Kentucky 31 January 1957. This information is from his death certificate. It's possible his place of birth was Floyd County Kentucky. His father is listed as Allen Slone, mother unknown.
According to census records Allen was born ca 1845 in Virginia and died before 1915 (probably in Floyd County). He married Mrs. Lucy Ann Williams (nee Lewis) about 1865, the widow of Jackson Williams who apparently died in the War of 1861. Her parents, as listed on her death certificate, are Washington Lewis and Frankie Clark, both natives of Virginia where Lucy was born in 1829; she died in Floyd County Kentucky 12 August 1915 and is buried in Honaker Cemetery in that county.
I've never been able to determine which Virginia County Allen is from or from whom he descends. Can someone point me in the right direction?
