Catherine Sloan, dau of John

I am looking for some solid proof that this Catherine Sloan (who married Linton Carlton) is the daughter of John Sloan of Colquitt County, GA.

I have seen the information in the Sloan family book but I cannot find any evidence of this kinship. Do you know anything about any proof? I see her brother John Sloan is offered in the DAR as a proof of kinship between his children and his father.

· ID: I22039

· Name: Catherine Sloan

· Sex: F

· Birth: 1824 in COLQUITT Co. GA.

· Death: AFT 1870 in COLQUITT Co. GA.

There are at least two published books which declare that Catherine is the daughter of John Sloan and Rachel Alderman. There is no proof or evidence offered. Does anyone have anything to prove that Catherine is the daughter of John. Catherine married Linton Carlton in Colquitt County, GA. There is a marriage record in the Probate Judge's office in Colquitt, GA as proof of this marriage.
I have written to an address for Frank Mitchell but it bounced so I guess he has a new email address.
