The November 2007 issue of ANTIQUES magazine on page 156 displays a portrait of Ann Eliza Sloan Dorrance, probably of NY, painted c. 1824-1825 by the great NY folk art painter Ammi Phillips. This portrait should be made known to the Dorrance and Sloan families. I am scanning it in case any of the descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the family ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by them. It may not have extensive genealogy value, but it certainly does have a whole lot of family and artistic value. My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please respond by emailing me directly and not by posting a reply on this genforum site, which I might not see. If it were a portrait of a 19th century Pease family member, I'd certainly hope someone would do the same for me. Bill Pease Lancaster, PA Notify Administrator about this message?
