I just responded to your earlier message. The story we have on our Slones is that three brothers (supposedly William, John and George, but who knows) came over in 1730-1760 from Ireland (they were presumeably Scots). They supposedly married three Guthrie sisters, but I have never had that corraborated. The earliest Slone I can document is William W. Slone, born 1763 in PA, who married Elizabeth Prickett.William eventually moved on with General Wayne to fight in Indian wars in Ohio in 1790s and stayed on in Clermont County. This William is listed in D.A.R. records. But there were a few Samuels, Williams, Johns and Georges in that period in Lancaster, Cumberland, Washington, Indiana, Westmoreland Counties. The county lines kept changing, so hard to track back that way.
