Tempest Slinger b. Feb, 21, 1821 in Yorkshire Eng. m. (1) Anna Riley ca. 1842, in England, (2) Margaret Hardy March 8, 1867 in sauk Co. WI Div. June 24, 1895 who was b. Dec. 7, 1837, at Alsase Lorraine, France the Dau. of Philip or Henry Dick. Margaret lived in the U. S. for 75 years and 35 years at Beloit, WI, until her death on Nov. 30, 1930. Her d. cert. stated her father's name was Philip while her marriage cert. said he was Henry. The m. cert. listed her husband as Tempest Schlinger, mason, who was b. in Eng., the son of Henry and Margarett Schlinger. Tempest d. April 17, 1902 at Merrimac, Sauk Co. WI.
Childreb b. in England and America:
i Henry Slinger, b. ca. 1848; d. July, 1919.
ii. Ellen Slinger.
iii. Margaret Slinger.
iv. Elizabeth Slinger.
v. Hanna Slinger m.--------Wade, in England.

The preceding information taken from A chapter on Allied families (Slinger) from ANCESTORS AND DESCENDANTS OF JOHN DODGE 1816-1898 VOL II by Phillip and Marilyn Slinger 1979. There is more on this family in the book and his ties to England. Tempest was a brother of My Great Grandfather Andrew Slinger who came to America in 1849 and settled in Columbia County WI.
