My great grandfather was Michael Slevin. He came to the US and settled in NYC where he died in the 1930's. Upon arriving in the US, the surname was changed from Slevin to Slavin. He was born in Sligo around 1859. His mother's name was Cecelia McAndrews; his father's name was either Michael or John.
If anyone has any information, I'd greatly appreciate it.
