Slaymon family of Cambridge, Ohio

I am trying to determine if I have any relatives still living in the Emerald Isle. My maternal ggrandfather, Michael SLAYMON, came to the USA with his mother and other siblings in 1864. I believe the father remained behind in Ireland, and that his name was Thomas SLEVIN. Obviously, the surname was changed sometime between 1864 when they left for the USA, and the 1870 census when Michael is listed as being in Cambridge, Ohio with the name, Michael SLAYMON. I make the connection because Margaret BURKE was the wife of Thomas SLEVIN, and she is listed in the 1870 US census as living in Ohio with her son, Michael. Thomas is in the Griffith's Valuation of County Galway for 1855. He is identified as the lessee of a house and land consisting of just over two acres. The exact location was Belmont Townland, Liskeevy Parish, Tuam Union, Dunmore Barony, County Galway, Province of Connaght, Ireland.
They were Catholic, and Michael married Mary Carr on Dec. 30, 1872 in Ohio. I believe he was born on Feb. 22, 1841. I have a lot on the family to the present, but nothing back to Ireland that I can substantiate. Would like to find some of my relatives and complete my genealogy. Would appreciate any assistance or suggestions from anyone else interested in this family name.
Best,
Joe Burt
