Benjamin Sleeper b 1789 d 1875 was son of Robert Sleeper, Sr. b1761 d1850. Benjamin Sleeper lived in West Corinth VT most of his life having been born in either Epping NH or Deerfield NH and then in 1794 thereabouts moved with his parents to Corinth VT.

Benjamin married a third cousin, Sarah Sleeper, a descendant of Jacob, a descendant of Moses Sleeper, Benjamin's line is of John Sr b 1690, a brother of Moses Sleeper.

Benjamin and Sarah's children:

Ruth Sleeper b July 18, 1812 m. Charles Sealey
Catherine Sleeper b May 14, 1816; m John Brewster
Achsah Sleeper b Feb 22, 1820; m Daniel Elliott
Nancy Knap Sleeper b May 12, 1922; m George Chase
Dorotha Sleeper b 1825; d 1825
Sherbon (Sherburn) Prescott Sleeper b Oct 19, 1827 & m
married Bridget White in Plainfield, NJ Jan 16, 1864 or 1859 -- Was said to have three sons; but found evidence of one son-- Any others? They lived NJ for a number of years. I believe Bridget White was from Fairlee, VT.
Benjamin Franklin Sleeper b Jun 9, 1830 m1st Louise Prescott & 2d Eniley E. White who I believe was from Fairlee, VT.
Joseph Edson Sleeper b 1832 m Hannah Merrill. Their son, Albert Edson Sleeper was gov. of Michigan -- Believe Albert Edson was an only child and he had no children.

Would like to hear from descendants -- some of these children of Benjamin and Sarah's went to Mass. to work in the factories when Industry opened up in Lowell Mass.

Thank you. Virginia Sleeper Terry
