Lunsford Sledge and family corrections
I have just viewed several gedcom files on Rootsweb World Connect and have found numerous mistakes according to my research from documents and family history.
Some of the biggest errors are the following:
From all my research and family history William and Cordilia DID NOT have any children by the names of William N., Betty Jean or Clyde. They just had the four kids - Eugene Edward, Ione M., Ella Lucy and L. B. (Lunsford Booth) Sledge. On the 1880 Census it only list these four. William died and left no will but Cordilia did give them their legal share of his holdings. I have copies of all these deeds.
Eugene Edward Sledge - my great grandfather was married 2 times. The first was to Alma Rutland and they had ONE child and that was Edward Eugene Sledge. The Nellie Gray Sledge you have listed was the child of Eugene Edward Sledge and Lillie/Lilly Ward (2nd wife). I have copy of delayed birth certificate for Nellie and she states that her parents were Eugene and Lilly Sledge.
Edna Lottie Sledge, daughter of Eugene Edward Sledge, married BYRON GIDDENS, not Bryan Giddens. Edna and Byron only had ONE child and he is still living. This is my father and grandparents.
Henry Sledge son of Lunsford and Harriet Sledge was HARPER Sledge, named after his mother's father Harper Booth.
Lunsford A. Sledge - I have yet to see any records with his name as Elithan/m, all records show just the initial A.
Harriet Booth was born abt 1803 according to the 1850 Census. She listed her age to be 46 so she could not have been born in 1811 as some people have her listed. She died in 1883.
It would be great if these mistakes were corrected so that they don't keep spreading.
I also would like to get in touch with any other descendants for this line.
