I descend directly from Daniel Slaymaker and am seeking DAR membership through his line. The DAR does not record any members who have sought membership through Daniel which means I have alot to do--unless, there is a Slaymaker family book. Our local chapter president seems to think a published work will suffice for some of the older records. I'm not so hung up on the DAR status as I am on the fact that they have a decent amount of scholarship money available and I have a decent amount of college-bound kids.More than anything, I am proud to descend from such a bold and courageous family.
