Great to hear from you. Actually, the George Henry Slaybaugh who married Emily Saxton was a cousin to my ancestor. It took me a little while to sort this out because the two were so close in age and their travels were so similar.

Your George Henry Slaybaugh (1/15/1842 - ????)is a son of Samuel and Catherine (Foltz) Slaybaugh. Samuel is my Jacob's brother - both are sons of Johann George and Sarah (Werner) Schlebach. According to a few notes I have, George Henry Slaybaugh served in the Civil War and consequently lost most of his hearing. He later lost a hand and part of his arm in a lumber mill accident in Luther, Michigan. He and his wife left Hardin County, Ohio for Michigan not long after they were married - along with George's father and mother.

I also note that George Henry Slaybaugh was married three times:

1. Emily Saxton (abt 1843-7/27/1905) m. 4/24/1866
2. Martha Jane Stein (4/16/1842-4/11/1921) m. 4/1911
3. Jane Edwards (???) m. 9/13/1923

I only have record of children from the first marriage. Those children being:

Oliver S. (1871)
John F. (1872)
Bertha A. (1874)
Oscar E. (1880)
Bertie (1883)

I'd be interested in your line if you'd like to email me directly.
