Sandy,

I find I have an entry for a Joseph Luther Slaybaugh (1848-1925) who married a Ruth Ellen Bevens. Now Joseph's parents were John Noah Slaybaugh (1812-1889) and Mary R. Hatten (1815-1864)and I also note that Mary R. Hatten Slaybaugh died in Shelby County, Ohio which I believe matches the location you're investigating. I have some Slaybaugh information that could be of interest if this provides a match.

Much of the information I have on this family comes from "Early Clark County, Ohio Families: Vital Statistics" Vol. VI, compiled by Sylvia R. Olson.
