You may not want to find Jacob Slaybaugh. I've done some research and he wasn't a very nice person. Not criminal or anything like that. But definitely not well liked.

Jacob married Sarah Blosser in Stark County, Ohio, 3/19/1840. The Slaybaughs at this time were somewhat nomadic, After moving to Stark County from Pennsylvania they moved to Crawford County, then on to Hardin County (all Ohio) before the family went their separate ways - some to Michigan and Jacob with his new wife, Nancy Richie, to Syracuse, Indiana where he died.
