I actually have been working to find Henry as well....and what I have found does not agree with this information, nor what was in the book...
I found Ida Bison, 19 married H. J. Slawson, 52 on 6 July 1902 in Scott County, Arkansas volumn and page C113.
Later, I find: Mrs. Ida Slawson married P.S. Jones on 21 Sep 1910 in Logan County, Arkansas. (this is from Ancestry, com marriage records). I also find Parker Jones and Ida Jones in the 1920 Census for Dallas, Texas with the following children in the household:
Parker S. 67
Ida38
Otis E. 9
Nettie E. 6
Luedith 1 7/12
listed as stepchildren:
Slasson, Mary M. 16 (the line I am researching)
Slasson, Velma 14
Slasson, Henry 13
I am certain these are the folks I am looking for, but do not find anything else to tell me who Ida's parents were. I have no idea how anyone would have thought that Richard was her husband, and I wonder if the author of the book had the brothers reversed?
I have also not found where any of these people are buried.
I did find Parker S. Jones died 11 April 1924 in Monroe County, Arkansas. I believe he was born March 1852 in TN and his parents were Thomas Jefferson and Sophrona Jones.
I would appreciate any information anyone has regarding Ida Bison!
Thanks all!
