Hope someone's written privately with more a more definite response, but just in case they haven't... From my notes from a research trip to Indiana a couple weeks ago, Sarah J. Slavens and William D. Gault were married in Parke County, Indiana on 5 Oct. 1866 by Robert Irwin, magistrate. This is from a D.A.R. index to marriages in the county. From the location and ages in censuses, a likely candidate for Sarah's parents are Phillip and Elizabeth (Thurman) Slavens. This a branch of the family that I don't have much information on, other than Phillip is usually erroneously listed as the twin brother of my gggrandfather James Slavens. Phillip was one of Isaiah Slavens' many children; there's a lot of information about Isaiah on the 'net and/or I'd be happy to fill you in.
