Dear Pam,
I don't believe we have had the plesure of meeting, I am your 2nd cosin, son of Noble Nathen Slaughterbeck Sr. Your Grand Mother was my Fathers sister. My mothers name was Lilian Ann Slaughterbeck. My older sister, Shirley *Clemans*(sp), my brother Noble Nathen Slaughterbeck Jr. and oldest sister Barbara Hicks. All in the Lafayette area along with several cousins from Uncle Orval and Oathel Slaughterbeck's family.
I was so surprized when I stubbled onto your posting! Geee, I hope you get this. I would like to exchange pictures, some family storries, maybe have small chat sometime. For now maybe an email addy and pictures of Emma & Nicholas.
I too learned from my father, Noble, to *mussel* (Wabash River has no clams) on the river near Lafayette IN. Most all your information is correct as to how it was told to me by mon and dad, but have very little in the way of pictures and factual information. So when I found your posting, I was in shock!
Being the youngest of my family, I was 3 y/o when my mother's mother pass away here in Lafayette IN 1958. She was the only Grand Parent I had ever seen. Shortly after selling our farm of 80 acers North of here and moving to Grants Pass Origan where I started my younger childhood. Moving back to Lafayette in 1964 because of poor econamy and lack of work for dad.
Pam, I hope we can communicate some. I would love pictures and I think I have a few of your Grand Mother & Father too.
