From Clinton:
The DNA Project has 13 results: 12 are 43-marker tests, one is a 12-marker. It is established that George Washington Slaten of Monroe co TN (b ca 1800 SC), Loving Slaten (b ca 1805 SC) and Richard Slaton (b ca 1832), who is a known descendant of George Slaton of Jackson co GA (b 1839), and Wade Slaton of DeKalb co AL (b ca 1805 SC), a strongly suspected descendant of Capt John Slaten (d 1819 E TN), all share a common paternal ancestor, through descendants of each line, and that Wade of Morgan co AL (b 1852 d 1939) is closely related. These are all strongly suspected to descend from a William Slading who appears in Albemarle co VA in 1766, through suspected sons or grandsons, John, George and Major. One other individual who shares this has an earliest descendant named Stephen Decatur Slaton who lived in White co AR. These men are all cousins, acc to current DNA theory, all except one is over 97% matches, with three at 100%.
