In the Craven County, NC estates, Raleigh, NC; letter to Clerk of Court from Margaret P. Worthington, of Hopkinsville, KY Sept. 5, 1842:
She says her father was Stephen Slade and her mother was Ann Slade formerly Calef. Ann had a brother Robert Calef.
Stephen and Ann Slade emigrated from near New Bern, NC about 1787 to Kentucky.
I have no interest in this family and only post this as a resource
