Wellsboro (Tioga County, Pennsylvania) Agitator, Wednesday, 08 January 1945:
"Fred Alfred Slade, aged 71 years, died at his home. He is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. C. B. Blend, of Adenale, N. J., Mrs. Carl Clemons, of Rochester, Miss Dorothy Slade at home, one brother, Perley Slade, of Elkland, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at the Methodist church, Rev. E. G. Rowe officiating; burial in Highland cemetery at Elkland."
