Hi Kara, I have found a lot more info on the Skube's. It's SUSAN Huerster. Parents of John Skube are Anton Skube and Helena Turk. He had a brother Anton (Mary Nahtigal), sister Mary (Prijatel)m. to Joseph, and a sister Cecilia (Modic)m.1910 to Blaz. Anton(1889-1963) married an unknown wife #1 and had a son Anton(b. abt. 1915)then was widowed and married Mary Nahtigal and had 10 more children , one dying as a newborn. Cecilia (1887-1943) married Blaz Modic(d.1963)and had 4 children. Mary (1889-?) married Joseph Prijatel (1885-1946) and had 5? children. I know the names of all the children. I have found a pedigree of Anton SkEbe marrying a Helena Turk from Hinje, Austria which is now Slovenia. John was from Krain, Austria, which was a German speaking area in what now is Slovenia and Hinje is right there. It had changed to Y(J)ugoslavia after 1918 until 1991 when it changed to Slovenia. I'm slowly putting it all together.
