There is the tomb of Sir Henry Skipwith of Cotes and his last wife in the parish church of Prestwold, near where I live. IT is one of his line who emigrated to America.
There is a good deal of information on the Cotes/Prestwold Skipwiths in the "History and Antiquities of Leicestershire" first published in the early 1900s and reprinted in 1971.
There was a big branch of the family at Ormesby in Lincolnshire, and there is a pedigree of the Lincolnshire Skipwiths in a book called "Lincolnshire Pedigrees".
If I can help with any information, let me know.
