Marla, Here's what I found using census records. 1870 Clear Creek, Jasper Co., Iowa George Skinner 47 born NY Farmer Abagail 47 NY Keeps house Herbert A. 21 NY Farm worker Ashur L 18 NY Farm worker Ida 10 IA School M??? Chamberlin 13 NY At Home (male) 1860 Otho, Webster County, Iowa George Skinner 37 born NY Farmer Abigal 38 NY Hubbard 11 NY Arthur S. 8 NY 1850 Stockholm, St. Lawrence Co., NY George Skinner 27 born NY Farmer Abigail 27 NY Herbert 1 NY Augustus Loder 14 Canada There are also a number of farm laborers listed in their household. On the same census page: Ashbel Skinner 62 Born VT Farmer Louisa 64 CT Dean M. Pettibone 36 NY Joiner Lucy 33 NY Chancy 9 NY Charles 1 NY Ashbel and Louisa may be George's parents. Lucy Pettibone may be his sister. Just guessing. 1880 Clear Creek , Jasper County, Iowa H. Skinner 31 NY NY NY Mary 25 IA MO NJ Walter 8 IA NY IA Gertie 6 IA NY IA Elsie 3 IA NY IA on the same census page: Arthur Skinner 26 Effie 25 Wife Harvy 1 Son A.B. Skinner 55 Mother A Campbell 18 Servant 1885 Iowa State Census Hurbert Skinner 35 Mary 29 Walter 13 Gertie 17? Charles 2 A.B. Skinner 61 I checked 1850 census for St. Lawrence County. There were several Kingsbury families in Stockholm, but none the right age to be the parents of Abigail. There were lots of Kingsburys in the county that might have been her parents. Too many to guess at. I hope this is helpful. Pat Hovell Notify Administrator about this message?
