HELP!!! I would appreciate any information about the parents of Luther Skinner born 1795 in New Hampshire. Luther may have had a sister named Eunice born 25 Jun. 1793. His brother, Sylvester Skinner was born in Vermont abt. 1804. Luther is listed as being born in NH on both the 1850 & 1860 census for Waterloo,NY and is 55 in 1850. His brother, living a few households away, is listed as being born in VT on both the 1850 & 1860 census and is 46 in 1850. We know that Luther married Ruth Parker 21 Jan. 1821 in Putney, Windham Co. VT and that Ruth was born there abt 1797. She was the daughter of Samuel Davenport Parker and the granddaughter of Joshua Parker one of the earliest settlers of Putney. We can't figure out who Luther's parents are. LDS has a Luther Skinner born 03 Mar. 1795 in Nelson twp. Cheshire Co., NH to a Luther Skinner. There are lots of Skinners in Nelson twp. Cheshire Co. NH around the time of Luther's birth and lots of Skinners in Putney, VT in the late 1790s and early 1800s. I just don't know how they all fit together. Luther and Ruth moved on to Waterloo, Seneca Co. NY shortly after they married along with his brother Sylvester. Ruth died abt 1840/41 and Luther married Phebe Sherwood. ANY info about this family would help. Thank you! Ginny
