Grasping in the Wind - Calling all SKILLMANS

I am grasping at the wind and my head is sore from hitting the proverbial Genealogy Brick Wall, searching for those lost Skillman's

I am trying to locate the ISAAC SKILLMAN who was born on July 24, 1764. He was the son of Christopher Skillman and Ruth Fitzrandolph. Isaac's son Elijah B. Skillman was my GG-Grandfather.

From records Isaac Skillman took land in Siever County Tennessee in 1817, his youngest son Elijah was born in 1818. Isaac's apparently widowed wife Lydia Lindsay remarried to John Aaron Canterbury in 1820 in Bibb County, Alabama. She had came down to Shelby County, Alabama with her father David Elijah Lindsay. Apparently Isaac died between 1817 and 1819??

Isaac's father Christopher, born in 1732 had died in Burboun Co. Kentucky in the late 1700's. SO the Skillmans had been in this area, and also Louden County Virginia. Isaac and Lydia may have gotten married in one of these places, or Seiver County, TN??

I am trying to locate were Isaac died and how???

Where did - and exactly when did he and Lydia Lindsay get married?? I believe it was about 1797 in Siever or Greene Co. TN,(now the Smoky Mountains) their oldest son David Randolph Skillman was born in 1801.

Isaac and Lydia left a great multitude of descendants all across this great land, from their many children listed below:
David Randolph Skillman
Christopher Skillman
Mary Polly (Skillman) Lindsay
James Lindsay Skillman
Elizabeth Rebecca (Skillman) Bolton
Elijah B. Skillman (would love to know what the B. stood for in Elijah's name?)

If all these descendants would pull and work together, we could solve this great mystery.

I am calling on and Challenging all SKILLMAN's to help me in this great quest!!

Together we can break down this Skillman Brick Wall!! Please help me on this.

Thanks, your Skillman cousin Danny Joseph Skillman, Altoona Alabama, skilled@hopper.net
