I am descended from Clarissa Skillington born
April 24, 1806 in North Carolina. The information I have is that Clarissa had a brother, John A. and two sisters, Elizabeth and Cnythia or Scintha. My cousin received a report from a Skillington researcher that these 4 were orphens who were given into the care of Dicey Skillington and George Whithorn by the Williamson County Court in December 1823. I don't know how accurate this information is. I can't seem to find out anything about Dicey Skillington except his year of birth, 1780, and date of death, January 26, 1875. I don't know what Dicey's relationship to the children was or who their parents were.
