For several years, it was assumed that Dicey was a man, but recently, several of us who are researching this line have come to the conculsion that Dicey is a nickname for Ludica and that this is a woman. We have the information about her living in the household you mentioned. We think that perhaps she was a widow who was granted custody of her children along with a male member of her family. In those days, they didn't think a woman was capable of doing anything without a man involved. Thanks for the reply.
