I am doing research for my cousin who is related through William Riley Skiles, son of William Skiles & Rachel of Dent Co., MO. I noticed that in Ancestry.com Malinda's father has been located..? My question is this: why does everyone say that William's (father of William Riley, James, Hardy, and one female) parents are William Skiles & Elizabeth Miller?? William (father of William Riley) was born Jun 1799 and William Sr did not marry Elizabeth Miller until Oct 1801.. over a year after William's birth. I found another marriage record for William Sr to a Lydda Chadwile on 5 Oct 1795. I believe Lydda is William Jr's mother, not Elizabeth Miller. Both marriages for William Sr can be found in Ancestry.com, Tennessee Marriage Records, Greene Co., along with other Skiles marriages. Also, I'm having a problem locating some family members in 1870, any clues?? You can contact me directly at suesisco@yahoo.com
